CHANCE OF A LIFETIME ROD RAFFLE / We are chancing off a Vince Marinaro 7'6", two piece, two tip, 5 weight, "Maxwell" bamboo fly rod. This rod is being built by Bill Harms and Tom Whittle, authors of the book "Split and Glued by Vincent C. Marinaro", both noted and excellent cane rod builders. This rod is being built using Vince's tapers and one of his vintage bamboo culm's, that was dedicated a champagne toast.at the PFFMA open house. Included with the rod raffle will be an Orvis CFO ll fly reel, a S/A Mastery GPX fly line and a signed copy of "Split and Glued by Vincent C. Marinaro" by the authors. Please put a drop down box for $10 per ticket. Tickets purchased before 30 days prior to the drawing date will be mailed to the purchaser.
Pennsylvania Fly Fishing Heritage Day, Saturday June 20th, 2015
At last years Heritage Day we had beautiful warm sunny day, we are hoping for the same this year. Our 2015 Heritage Day will be held on June 20th, as always, the Saturday before Fathers Day. This will be our biggest Heritage Day event ever! Angling enthusiasts and supporters come to the Meadow and Picnic Pavilion at The Allenberry Resorts, in Boiling Springs to take part in a great day of fly fishing activities. The day will be filled with fun from beginning to end, with over 60 Venders and Exhibitors, speakers and demonstrations, there will be all-day Fly casting instruction, a Fly casting competition, Fly tiers in action, Raffles, and the always popular Fish Swim Race on the Yellow Breeches. Several programs are scheduled and will take place in our museum.
Three new events have been added to this years Heritage Day. The Pennsylvania Fly Fishing Museum will be co-sponsoring The Mid-Atlantic Fly Tying Championships, and The Mid-Atlantic Fly Casting Championships. Both of these events will be co-sponsored and conducted and by the Cumberland Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited ( CVTU )

There will also be a Bamboo Rod Building Seminar, with a hands on class in building a bamboo rod, $20 fee and registration is required at www.paflyfishing.org

Another great raffle from the Pennsylvania Fly Fishing Museum. This beautiful 21” Brown Trout carving “The Rogue” by Steve Kimple. Steve has been a supporter of the PFFMA for many years and offers his support with extraordinary fish carvings. Raffle chances are available at $5.00 each on our web site, through Facebook, at our Heritage Day, and our Fundraising Dinner/Auction events. “The Rouge" is carved of basswood, painted with acrylics and mounted on a native walnut base. Drawing will take place at our annual dinner/auction on November 14, 2015
